Gabija Jocyte (b. 2003) is a Belfast-based, interdisciplinary artist, focusing on themes of girlhood, performativity, and the relationship between the viewer and an exhibited object or image. Her practice combines sculpture, installation work, found objects and performance to explore these themes within immersive spaces. Highlighting an awareness in how we choose to actively look at images while subconsciously performing for the male gaze.

Gabija is the recipient of the Bbeyond Graduate Award 2024 and selected for the New Commission Project for the upcoming year.
